Filipa has been working in the Spa area for 12 years now. She started her career as a Therapist at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon in 2004. At this great institution, she learned the meaning of excellence. The professional experience acquired in different fields, like the degree in Portuguese and German Philology (post-graduate teacher training) and Business Management and Direction, together with her personal ambition, enabled her to take on challenges and acquire knowledge throughout several years until she realized her calling went towards the promotion of Health and Wellness.
The invitation to refurbish the Spatitude venue in Lisbon (2007) was the leap to become Chief Therapist, responsible for the conception of the Spa Menu, with the creation of signature treatments, and training and recruiting the team of therapists. The next step was becoming Spa Director. For two years, she was both Chief Therapist and Spa Director. This was an excellent opportunity to complement her knowledge in this specific area, as she brushed up her skills in management, the Spa branch, Marketing, Communication, Human Resources, Commercial and Public Relations.
The SPASWELOVE Consultancy project is the result of her entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to put her skills and experience to the service of those who wish to create concepts of Wellness excellency, through specialized consultancy. SWL Business Special and SWL Wellness for You are the result of the desire to provide wellness experiences in any place, through massage and therapeutic visits at home or at the workplace, or at Spas, also enhancing the practice of indoor or outdoor physical exercise adapted to needs. Hélio is a professional linked to the sports practice from an early age, specially fighting sports, having entered Kick Boxing competitions.
His love and dedication to sports led him to graduate in Human Kinetics (Education branch). He taught Physical Education in schools, but his options led him to explore the Exercise, Health, Fitness and specially Customized Training and Physical Rehabilitation areas.
After having been the coordinator in the exercise room and physical assessment in the Academia do Korpo gym, his ambition to grow and desire to evolve professionally drove him to a new challenge - opening the Health & Racket Club in Quinta da Marinha.
His major professional leap happened in 2005 with an invitation to be part of the Spa/Fitness Personal Trainers Team of the Four Seasons Ritz Hotel Lisbon.
His determination to explore new knowledge areas to complement his professional dimension led him to study Chinese Medicine at the Chengdu University (China) in 2008, as a Portuguese Red Cross fellow.
In 2011 he completed the Manipulative and Osteopathic Therapies Course in the Colégio de Osteopatia — Instituto Técnicas de Saúde em Lisboa, having been part of the Department of Osteopathy at the Portuguese Red Cross Military Home.
He is now a Personal Trainer and Osteopath at the Four Seasons Ritz Hotel Lisbon. He also manages his portfolio of clients at home, designed to conduct and optimize all the interdisciplinary processes related to the promotion of physical and psychological health, like losing weight, posture correction, injury prevention and treatment or performance.

SWL’s first Thermal Spa project. Ambitious goal: transform and enrich the thermal heritage of Furnas (S. Miguel, Azores), by creating an exceptional Spa inside the iconic Hotel das Furnas. From the outset, we were involved in the renovation project by supervising and counselling architectural, rehabilitation and design projects. The Azores natural and cultural environment inspired us to start a Spa Menu with exclusive body and face protocols. We discovered the Azores through a Spa!

We were invited to optimize and manage the Spa of the first 5* hotel owned by Grupo Vila Galé.
We chose to come up with a Spa concept that would make it different from all the others, based exclusively on national brands, inspired by poetry, as this is the Hotel dos Poetas (the Poet’s Hotel). We stand out due to the quality of the service we provide, with exclusive protocols in the areas of Spa treatment, a refined environment, an expert team in different areas, specially focused on Customized Training and Osteopathy sessions. We work daily to make this Hotel Spa a benchmark in Lisbon, Cascais and elsewhere.

The original idea to optimize the existing venue soon became a project to create a new Spa. We set up a Spa Menu from scratch and recruited and trained a new team of therapists. We came up with a plan for marketing, communication and implementation strategies and commercial partnerships. First stepping in as consultant, Filipa Santos later became the manager, a function she held for three years. Fisiogaspar has since become a trend-setting urban Spa. (A Filipa Santos Project)

We were involved in the transformation of this place to make it a Spa Gymnasium. We established a Treatment and Massage concept that would suit the demanding clients of the iconic Clube Mega Craque, in Lisbon. For two years we upgraded our Fitness experience in this club, with quality massage and aesthetics.

This was our first complete Spa and Fitness creation project because we had the opportunity to define and oversee the emergence of the Wellness Centre from scratch. We worked closely with the architect, engineers and design team and chose all the Spa and Fitness materials and equipment, also conceiving the Spa Menu and recruiting and training Spa and Fitness teams. We were also invited to assist in the management of the new health and wellness venue during the first year of its operation. This new place supplemented and improved what the Hotel had to offer and won over the resident population. (A Filipa Santos Project)
Spatitude Urban Spa in Lisbon - Spa consultancy and Managment (2007 to 2011)

An urban Spa project that consisted of creating a health and wellness oasis in the centre of Lisbon. This was a challenge we took on in 2007 with the goal to come up with an exclusive Spa Menu to customize oriental luxury. We monitored and took part in the whole process, from the choice of Spa equipment and decorative features to the management, selection and training of the 10 plus therapist team. Managing SPATITUDE was a privilege and an excellent learning experience. When I left this project, I really felt my mission had been accomplished. (A Filipa Santos Project)
